PhD Students:

  • Shanshan Hou - PhD student (Focus: multilevel optimization, integer programming, interdependent infrasturctures, water and energy systems), expected to graduate in Spring 2018.

Shanshan Hou received her B.S. in Applied Math from Beihang University, China in 2014. Recently, she received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award from University of Arizona Foundation in May 2015, and also received a University of Arizona Water Sustainability Graduate Fellowship for 2015-2016, through the state Technology and Research Initiative Fund. 
 
 
  • Ammon Washburn - PhD student in Applied Math (Focus: data-driven optimization, machine learning, data uncertainties), expected to graduate in Spring 2019.

Ammon received a BS in Mathematics with minors in Statistics and Computer Science from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.  Ammon was accepted into the interdisciplinary Applied Math program at the UA in Fall 2014 and is interested in optimization and data analytics.   • Wanlu Gu - PhD student (Focus: data analytics, healthcare applications), expected to graduate in Spring 2019.
Wanlu Gu received her B.S degree in Quality and Reliability Engineering from Beihang University,  China in  June 2015. She starts her PhD degree in Systems and Industrial Engineering at University of Arizona in August 2015.
 
 
 
 
  • Ou Sun - PhD student (Focus: resilient and survivable network design, integer programming), expected to graduate in Spring 2019. 

Ou Sun received her B.S degree in Industrial Engineering from Tianjin University, China in  June 2015. She starts her PhD degree in systems and industrial engineering at University of Arizona in August 2015.
 
 
 
 
  • José Luis Ruiz Duarte - PhD student (Focus: optimization, renewable energy integration), expected to graduate in Spring 2020.

José Luis Ruiz Duarte received his B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Sonora, Mexico. He started his PhD degree on Systems and Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona in August 2016. Also he is part of the 2016-2017 University Fellows Program (see news here).

 

  • Daniel Alberto Zúñiga Vázquez - PhD student (Focus: scalable optimization, smart grid), expected to graduate in Spring 2021.

Daniel Alberto Zúñiga Vázquez received his B.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Sonora, Mexico. He started his PhD on Systems and Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona in August 2017.
